Configuration: Overview
In this section of the Documentation, we cover the different aspects of configuring your Bytechat AI chatbot. Good configuration is essential to ensure that the chatbot seamlessly aligns with your business needs and your customers' expectations. We'll discuss the main configuration options, including visual styling, behavior and personality, and training the chatbot with relevant data.
Configure Bytechat
Configure Bytechat by going to the "Configuration" tab in your dashboard.
The configuration consists of three parts:
- Visual styling: customize the color, layout, position, appearance, name, and welcome message of Bytechat. Configuration: Visual Styling
- Behavior & Personality: customize the features that Bytechat can use, the personality, behavior rules, and restrictions of Bytechat. Configuration: Behavior & Personality
- Training Data: feed the AI with information it can use to answer customer questions. Enter the link to your website to automatically extract all information from your website so Bytechat can use it. Add information about frequently asked questions, products, or other information that Bytechat needs to answer customer questions well. Configuration: Training Data
The visual adjustments you make are displayed live in the preview window on the right.
When you're done with the configuration, click "Save Configuration".
Note: when you save your configuration, changes will be applied immediately. Additionally, it's currently not possible to revert to an earlier version of your configuration. Next: Visual styling
